Titanic Memorial Cruise

RMS Titanic

My interest in cruising got off to a start in an unusual way – with the story for the RMS Titanic.  As you may know, the Titanic is the famous ship that defined an era, and her sinking in 1912 paved the way for great changes in social thinking as well as ship-building.

I’ve always thought it would be interesting to relive that experience..well, without the sinking part, of course!  When I visited the Titanic Museum, I was enthralled by the evidence of social life at the time – the menus, the whole culture of the day.  Apparently, someone somewhere heard my whispering thoughts.

The Titanic Memorial Cruise is planned to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic.

Fred. Olsen’s Balmoral will follow Titanic’s original itinerary passing Cherbourg, calling at Cobh, crossing the Atlantic and arriving at the site where the Titanic sunk exactly 100 years ago. At this exact site, a memorial service will be held to pay tribute to the brave passengers and crew who perished on that fateful night.

The journey continues to Nova Scotia for a visit to the cemetery where the Titanic victims were interred, later continuing on to New York, the intended destination of the Titanic.

Here’s the really cool part: the cruise menu will be the same as on the originalmenu voyage, the music will be from that era, and guests will be treated to lectures by Titanic historians.

Reserve your place in history to experience this once in a lifetime journey commemorating the Titanic’s Tragic voyage in 1912.  Space is limited!
