England Swings Like A Pendelum Do…

February 7, 2009 by Steve Cousino

A few years back, a good friend of mine was taking advantage of a work-related exchange program to live in England for awhile.  I took some time to visit her and visit one of my favorite countries!

One good thing about England – it’s a great place to start an exploration of Europe.  For starters, the British speak English (albeit slightly different and with a fantastic accent).  This makes it easy to understand how things work, like traffic patterns and such.  For another thing, contrary to the public idea, the British are a great group of people and are proud of their country and their heritage.

My friend, Sarah, lived in the city of Norwich in the East of England.  I flew into London and Sarah met me there.  The drive from London to Norwich took about 3 hours – having flown into London’s Gatwick Airport south of the city, we were able to avoid much of the congestion.

Norwich is a very beautiful town with a great history.  We spent a few days exploring the city, and took a drive to the town of Sheringham (about an hour north of Norwich) to visit the North Sea.  We also visited the gorgeous city of Cambridge before spending the last two days of my visit in London.

The captions on my pictures below explain most of the details of the trip, as it was a leisure trip taken before I entered the travel profession.  I hope you enjoy the pictures!
